CAPTURING THE CHARACTER OF CORNWALL

Since moving back to her roots in The Lizard Gilly has produced a series of paintings as a response to the beauty of Cornwall – preferring to bring to the foreground the rich colours and textures of the Cornish land and seascapes while keeping a respect for the spirit of the subject.  The resulting paintings are colourful, lively and optimistic.

Gilly has consistently been involved in the arts since her fine art degree at Leeds and postgraduate at Goldsmiths, London working as a designer at Interchange community arts centre in Camden Town, London and as a mural artist both in Yorkshire and London.

Gilly is a qualified art teacher and has taught art in central London.  And in between that Gilly played saxophone in a London based band – The Deltones – for fun!
